What was the intent of each of these laws: Homestead Act, Pacific Railway Act, Morrill Act

    Homestead Act. The Homestead Act allowed migrators to have 160 acres of land, as long as they paid a small fee. They also had to live their for 5 years before the land was officially theirs.

    Pacific Railway Act. The Pacific Railway Act was Congress allowing a transcontinental railroad.

    Morrill Act. The Morrill Act provided grants of land to states to finance the establishment of colleges.
