During the Rights Revolution, there was a new push for the right to privacy. This was originally linked to the sanctity of marriage. However, the Court extended it into a right of individuals. With new laws involving the sexual revolution like unmarried women having access to birth control and the legality of abortions led to this new need to being allowed to do what you want. Privacy of your own choices was a big step in freedom.
