    Hitlers complete invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1939 prior to the invasion of Poland was the realisation for the leaders of Britain and France that the appeasement of hitler had failed after the Munich agreement of 1938 which had partitioned the Sudetenland around the eastern border of Czechoslovakia where by hitler assured the west that he would make no more land grabs
