When Mrs. Karas took the half-gallon of milk out of the fridge, she noticed it was 3/4 full. After breakfast, the carton was only 3/8 full. Since a half-gallon of milk is 64 ounces, how many ounces were used during breakfast?

This problem is so confusing.

First you need to multiply the 3/4 and 3/8 by 64.

Next you need to subtract the answer you get from 3/4 by 3/8.

This will give you the answer.

(The half gallon part doesn't matter since they are asking for the answer in ounces)
