    On December 9, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt delivered a fireside chat to the American people regarding the need for them to contribute to the war effort to come.

    FDR states in the speech, the war will be long and the citizens will need to contribute. He mentions the need to increased production in factories and to switch production to war materials. He appeals to the emotion of the event and states the importance of citizen support of the military as they go to war with the worst enemy of all time.
