The answer is D, communal ownership. They believed that no one has the right to claim land as their own. They believed that people are only the stewards of land, not owners. This is the reason why they got along with the French because even though the French claimed land, the mainly farmed and traded and did not build very many farms/cities which would ruin the hunting grounds. While the colonist/English not only claimed the land as their own, but farmed and built cities which threatened to destroy the natives form of living.
