Drawing on the example of the beats, the counterculture of the 1960s

Counterculture of the 1960's, like the beats of the '50's questioned the ideals of society. Life in the 1950's was very conformist and the beats tried to break that mold. Even in the '60's many people were very conformist and the hippies of the counterculture tried to challenge the existing social structure.
