What is one way that the u. s. constitution limits the power of the power of the federal government?

    One way is by having a list or bill of unalienable rights for the people governed. The federal government cannot take away those rights from the people; that puts a limit on the federal government's power. Having separation of powers also puts limits on the federal government's powers because the power is spread out and not concentrated in one part of the federal government.
