Why was Congress reluctant to approve the Marshall Plan? What forced them to make a decision?

    Congress was reluctant to approve the marshall plan because they believed it would be a waste of money and it was unnecessary however a soviet uprising in czechoslovakia finally prompted them to sign it as they knew they needed to stop the expansion of communism (policy of containment)
