    The correct answer is B. Farmers had to give a portion of their crops to the people who owned the land. More often than not, the portions were huge and they could barely make ends meet. In return they would have the land and they would have protection in case of a war or something similar. This is one of the reasons why feudalism ended. The people were sick of giving kings their hard earned produce.
