How did the U. S. Constitution make the U. S. differ from other governments?

Short and sweet would be great.

    Ok one it was meant to be a flexible document to allow for longevity. It included the bill of rights that guaranteed rights to all citizens. Plus it was the first document to set up a democratically based government.
