    The Massachusetts event, which clearly demonstrated that the Articles were not working and that citizens were suffering, even willing to resort to violence was Shay's Rebellion. Shay's Rebellion made many political elites believe that the Articles of Confederation was an ineffective system of government for preventing such rebellions and other problems that were threats to the nation.
