The suffrage movement in the 1800s allowed women to participate in different parts of society as they become concerned with domestic issues. One of the first things leading to the suffrage movement was the formation of the temperance movement which was a group against the consumption of alcohol because they believed it caused problems in society.

After women began to participate more, they were able to gain more respect as well as leading to some major accomplishments. Finally, this led them to the ability to vote.
