The very first step for labor to solve labor problems is joining and forming unions. There is strength in numbers. These unions are the modes by which workers band together to show their employers that they cannot be taken advantage of. All the other steps, though important, cannot be done without unions. It is the union, as an organization, that enters into collective bargaining agreements with companies. It is the union that initiates and organizes protests and strikes. Therefore it is vital for these unions to be properly organized to open the avenue for further steps to achieve the change they want.
