Boston was one of the cities affected by the onslaught of the British Forces. Many of the new englanders were people who were founding fathers, and because of the boston massacre, the feelings of the citizens were sent into frenzy of hatred against the british. Therefore Patriot would be the more logical reason behind this because the loyalists were the pretentious people who still believed in the power of the king, and those type of people got tarred and featherered back then.
