What started the Yamasee War between settlers and American Indians in South Carolina in 1715? The Yamasee attacked Jamestown and burned it to the ground. Settlers allied with the Tuscarora Indians attacked the Yamasee. The Yamasee began to encroach on settlers' land and were attacked.
