Explain how the relationship between the North American colonists and Great Britain affected the development of the underlying principles and ideas in the Declaration of Independence and new state constitutions in North America in the eighteenth century.

    We must remember that in that time Americans considered themselves as British AMerican rather than separate nation, which great exemple of that notion is first U. S flag (with Union Jack instead of stars) so the matter here was not matter of AMerican-British relation because they were seen as bretheren and it is even stated in declaration of indpendence the main factor here was tension between colonists and parliament and king, colonists seen themselves as second category citizens mistreated by UK and that affected the development of underlying principles.
