How did the Spanish treat the Native Americans

    Not very good, I read that they made native americans mine for ores, every person that brought back an ore had a coin on their neck if there was no coin they would be killed. Mothers drowned their babies because they didnt want them to grow up being a slave, quite sad.

    The answer is: Just below the Spanish were the Creoles-people of Spanish descent who were born in the colonies. The next step down the social order were the mestizos. Mestizos are people of mixed Spanish and Native American ancestry. The people with the least power and fewest rights were Native Americans and enslaved Africans.
