What is the main idea of laissez-faire economics

Laissez-faire was the main idea that Adam Smith contributed to the study of economics. It was defined as letting the market work on its own without any intervention from the government or what they called outside forces because they believe that the market will just find its equilibrium for they are guided by the invisible hand.
