It spans across eight different countries: Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Monaco and Lichtenstein. The Caucasus and the Urals are both higher, but both lie partly in Asia, therefore not making it entirely European. The highest peak (the Mont Blanc) stands at 4,810 meters tall.
