The most inhuman aspect of the triangular trade was slavery. The way it worked was that Europeans would trade with the kingdoms of west Africa and give them metals, guns and wool in return for slaves. They would then ship the slaves across the Atlantic to their colonies in America where slaves would work on the cotton, sugar and tobacco plantations. The American goods produced by the slaves would then be shipped back to Europe and the triangle would be completed.
