What reforms did Ataturk implement to transform the Turkish Republic into a modern and secular state?

There were three main reforms that Ataturk implemented to transform the Turkish republic into a modern and secular state. They were: Islamic Sharia law is abolished (1924) and a European-style legal system introduced (1926). Women are granted equal status (1934).

Implemented western laws, offices of the sultan abolished, and new language and dress requirements were begun.

Ataturk was Turkey's first president, holding leadership from 1923-1938.

Turkey became a country after the break up of the Ottoman Empire following World War I. Ataturk wanted to advance Turkey to a modern state. He outlawed religious courts and schools requiring these institutions to become secular. He outlawed headscarves being worn by public official to separate the government from religion. he also made cultural changes to include the calendar and alphabet as well as langue. Lastly, Ataturk made industrialization a priority in Turkey.
