    The Sunbelt is a region of the US south of the 36th parallel. It has warm climate, with extended summers and relatively mild winters. The growth in the Sunbelt had been occurring since World War 2. At that time many military manufacturing jobs were moving to the south. The aerospace industry created many new jobs in Sunbelt states.
