Are there economic reasons why a nation supports education and training? No, teachers' unions have just tricked taxpayers into supporting public schools. No, it is just national pride that makes countries compete in education. Yes, schools give jobs to otherwise unemployable people. Yes, much of the human capital of a nation's workforce is acquired in school.

    There are many reasons why a nation supports education and training including the fact that, much of the human capital of a nation's workforce is acquired in school. Without proper education the workforce would not be as productive or capable of producing high levels of economic output.
