    The numerous post-war uprisings in which nationalists attempted to overthrow colonial rulers or oppressive regimes in the name of national sovereignty were known as the war of "national liberation". The oppression of the rulers was going from bad to worse with each passing day. The people were being denied their rights in reference to several factors. People were also levied undue taxes which put a huge amount of pressure on them. To overcome such difficult circumstances people of many countries started revolting against the colonists.
