What had President Woodrow Wilson been able to do for two and a half years after the war began?

    He managed to keep the country out of the war, which was even his parole during the elections. Eventually he had to join after what happened with the submarines and the naval warfare. After that, the US joined the war and numerous soldiers were listed to go to Europe to fight what was then known as the Great War, as it couldn't be World War 1 since nobody knew that 2 was coming.
