    The factors are many. Here are some of them: civil wars, decline in trade, shortage of salt, overpopulation, emergence of leaders who oppressed the masses and waged wars against one another, exhaustion of mineral resources, spread of deadly epidemics and infectious diseases, persistent drought and wars as a result of succession disputes. All these contributed towards the fall of the great Zimbabwe state.
