Why were independent university important to the start of the scientific revolution

    Independent universities were an important aspect of the scientific revolution because they enabled knowledge accumulation and sharing between different institutions which were important in the early days. Without this, they wouldn't have been able to empirically verify the claims of the scientific revolution later on as no knowledge would have been accumulated.
