    -The main route to the west for eastern settlers

    - It links Cumberland, Maryland, Vandalia and Illinois

    The Lancaster Turnpike: - Was designed by John Loudon MacaAdam from Scotland

    - It connects Pennsylvania, Lancaster, and Philidelphia at 34th street, stretching for 62 miles
