I'd say that the statistics that reflects the nature of global poverty and the disparity of wealth between richer nations and poorer nations is the following one:

Poorest 40 percent of the world's population accounts for 5 percent of global income.

Most of the countries in the world are poor, especially if you take into consideration African countries, as well as some Asian countries which also don't have a lot of money, but work really hard for a low payment.
