    Substitute y = 2x - 4 into 7x - 5y = 14.

    > 7x - 5 (2x - 4) = 14

    > 7x - 10x + 20 = 14

    > - 3x = - 6

    > x = 2

    Now sub x = 2 back into y = 2x - 4 to find what y equals.

    > y = 2 (2) - 4

    > y = 4 - 4

    > y = 0

    Therefore, x = 2 and y = 0.

Substitution method is one of the way in determining the value of a variable by substituting the variable by the value of an equation and simplifying its value. So in step by step way, 7x-5 (2x-4) is the equation result in substituting the Y variable. By simplifying the value of x is 3.34 and Y is 2.68
