How did the United States benefit from Thomas Pickney's treaty?

    Americans benefited from Pinckney's Treaty in many ways. The four main ways are the following;

    - Spain gave up all of it's land claims east of the Mississippi River except for Florida.

    - It opened the Mississippi River to U. S traffic.

    - Specified friendships between the nations - US traders were allowed to use the Port of New Orleans.
