What factors led to LBJ's 1964 re-election bid?

    The most important one was that he was already the incumbent president based on the fact that Kennedy had been assassinated just shortly before so he was a president because he was the vice president then. Also he carried with him many policies and ideas that Kennedy wanted to implement so naturally he had the support of the people.
