I'm not sure about culture, but I know what affected Japanese art. The contribution of Zen to Japanese Art or culture is not so complex, but much of what the West admires in Japanese art today can be can be traced to zen influences of Buddhism in architecture, painting, poetry, gardening formations, and other crafts. but the things that are directly from Zen Buddhism is things painted/imprinted with the Japanese Dragon.
