What is the difference between the major cities and newly settled areas in the american colonies om the 1700s

    The major cities contained a more modernized civilization than a newly settled area. Also, depending on the time the new settlement formed, the major cities has rich farming land and water nearby since those areas were the first to go. New settled areas had little to no crops and shelter. It was a plain field of nothingness.
