    Ancient Egyptian religion was polytheiatic meaning there were more than many different gods and dieties. There religion was vital to society because it was the bases of many rituals and rights. And the belief of the afterlife. This included mummification rituals to preserve the body so that it would be uses in the afterlife. And the belief that one had to lead a life of honesty and goodness or one would not be allowed into the afterlife.
