The renaissance was a significant time period in history as the name itself in french translates to 'rebirth'. This suggests that it was a 'rebirth' in ideas and theories. This period involved a lot of new medical ideas and trials and a loss of reliance on the church. It maked an end to the dark ages and without it many modern treatments would be abolished by the church. Surgeons and doctors like Paré, a war surgeon, and Versalius, a surgeon studying anatomy, worked in this period and found out more painless and effective cures and remedies.
