What is one way the eastern front was different the the western part

Fighting on the eastern front was much more violent and harsh because of the brutality from both German and Soviet soldiers. The western front was much more relaxed in terms of fighting and because the western front was opened by democratic nations in the allies, the fighting was nowhere near as brutal.
