    The answer is anger over unemployment and police brutality. It was reported that the riots were caused by unemployment but what triggered it was when a black motorist was stopped and assaulted by police officers. This erupted into a riot that last for several days and it resulted to several deaths and injuries as well as destruction to private properties.
