What did thomas jefferson mean by his quote " our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost?"

    He meant that the information we get from an uncensored press is what allows us to think and believe what we will freely. If the press is censored then they do not give all the information that let's us be free and we become controlled. If the press is at all limited, then we have lost freedom.
