Why did the so-called "Intolerable Acts" upset so many colonists

    Because they were intolerable. Puns aside, the taxes imposed on people through those acts really affected almost every living person, and the people didn't want to pay them. They believed that the British have no right to tax them until they give them representation in the parliament.
