    I would say that trade routes reflected the demand for slaves, because over time between africa, england, and the united states it started to build a sort of triangular pattern of slaves being exchanged causing the name the trans - atlantic slave trade. (thats the pattern). your answer would be that as trade routes increased to form the transatlantic slave trade it started reflecting the demand for slaves as this pattern of trade became more popular.
