How did technology change American life in the 1920s? More Americans than ever had access to radios, telephones, electricity, and indoor plumbing. It created resentment among people who wanted new technologies but could not afford them. Few consumers could afford the debt to purchase new technologies, so many families shared them. Most Americans did not pay attention to technological changes due to long work days and limited pay.
