When the National Assembly broke off from the Estates-General, what was the assembly's intent?

    They wanted to make a new constitution for France. They were always out-voted by the Church and Nobility. They thought this was unfair and they decided to form the National Assembly and wanted to draft a new constitution that make changes for France.
