Strengths of hoovers campaign

Hover, who was formerly the Secretary of Commerce, introduced the country to what was called 'The Progressive Era'.

During his first campaign in 1929, he capitalized on this slogan by encouraging efficiency and standardization on business and elsewhere in government. He also was one of the first presidential candidates to fight strongly against what he called, also one of the first to term it, 'Big Government'.

Although his beliefs had merit, he was overwhelmed by The Great Depression and was soundly beaten while running for a second term in 1933 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
