Kathleen Eileen Moray Gray was an Irish furniture designer/architect & pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture. Her circular glass E-1027 table & rotund Bibendum armchair were inspired by the recent tubular steel experiments of Marcel Breuer. The reason why Eileen Gray originally design her famous side table for her guest room is because her guests’ reactions determined her designs’ appeal. Hope this answers the question.
