    the English Civil war and English revolution impact those among thinkers in 18 c. who supported separation of powers in opposition to absolute monarchy which was dominant political system in Europe in 17th c. (with some exceptions like Netherlands and Poland-Lithuania) absolutism had it's roots in 16th c. concept of 'divine right of kings' so for Anglo-sphere English revolution and balanced power of law, parliament and king which came during Stuart restoration was mostly influential of political thought of classic liberals of the age like John Locke (on the other side of political thought were those who were impacted by works of Thomas Hobbes and supported strong central power)
