The Japanese invaded Manchuria, because they wanted a puppet state and they wanted to own a little part of China that would be theirs. They called this new state Manchukuo. To invade Manchuria, the Japanese exploded a tiny bomb on the rail tracks in Manchuria and blamed it on Chinese dissidents. They soon after invaded Manchuria and claimed it for their own. However, the international community was soon made aware of this false, purposeful accusation and isolated the Japanese from diplomacy.
