What role did Alexander Solzhenitsyn play in ending the cold war?

    Solzhenitsyn was a writer, and a critic of Soviet totalitarianism. His works were banned in the Soviet Union, but Solzhenitsyn fought to have them published, through many famous petitions and opened letters. His role was that of an internal critic and, of publishing his criticism abroad.
