The U. S. got involved in the Boxer Rebellion because they were killing many Chinese citizens. So the U. S. sent their troops to rescue their citizens living in China and protect targeted Chinese Christians. Although the weakened Qing Dynasty lost power, it dismantled in 1911 as a result.
